What are prohibited uses of my storage unit?
Below is a list of prohibited uses of the storage unit:
(i) residential living purposes;
(ii) practicing or rehearsing music;
(iii) for a workshop of any kind;
(iv) for vehicle maintenance or repair;
(v) for the storage of foodstuffs, animals, plants, insects or any perishables;
(vi) for the manufacture, distribution, use or storage of illegal or controlled substances;
(vii) for storage of flammable, explosive, toxic or any other inherently dangerous material, including gasoline containers;
(viii) for the operation of a business of any kind whatsoever, including the selling of goods as a flea market, second-hand outlet, garage sale or auction at the unit or property;

What time of day will I be able to access my storage unit?
Anytime! The storage yard is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There are no yard lights yet, so aim to use the storage yard during daylight hours.
What is the minimum rental duration?
The minimum rental duration is 1 month.
Customers will need to order with a subscription plan and can cancel their subscription right after ordering to only rent for 1 month. Customers will receive a subscription confirmation email within 10 minutes of ordering where the order can be cancelled.
How does payment work on my storage unit purchase?
Customers will be charged when they initially complete the order in order to reserve the unit.
Customers will be subsequently charged each month thereafter on the move in date anniversary.
How do I end the rental of my storage unit?
Subscription rentals can be cancelled by logging onto the website and managing the subscription plan.
Customers will receive a subscription confirmation email within 10 minutes of ordering where the order can be cancelled.

How do I know which storage unit I get?
Customers will be sent an email within 1 day following the purchase of their storage unit indicating which storage unit number they're renting.
Do I need to bring my own lock?
Yes, customers are required to provide their own locks if they do not purchase one.
Locks can be purchased off the website.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Many online payment forms are accepted including:

- American Express
- Paypal
- Discover
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Shop Pay
- Diners Club
We do not accept cash or e-transfer at this time.
Should I insure my stuff?
It is recommended to insure the contents of your container. Orange County Self Storage cannot insure property owned by someone else. We believe if it's worth storing, than it's worth insuring.

How far in advance can I secure my storage unit?
You can reserve your storage unit up to 15 days in advance. Please inquire using the Contact page if you would like to reserve a container further in advance.
What will my storage unit look like?
Refer to the Home page to see what to expect for your storage rental. We do not provide personal tours at this time.
Do you have other sizes?
As of right now we only have the standard 20 foot storage units. Please reach out on the Contact page and let us know what other sizes you would like to see!
How much notice do I need to give to end my rental agreement?
We ask for a minimum of 10 days notice before the end of your rental agreement.
Do you have heated units?
We do not offer heated units at this time. Please contact us if this is something you require.
Tips
- Prepare items for storage. Clean all items thoroughly and dry them. Pack items appropriately before storing.
- Create an inventory list of all the items stored in the storage unit.
- Take photos of the stored items.
- Store items in clear containers for increased visibility.
- Store the heaviest items at the bottom.
- Store less frequently used items near the back of the container and more frequently used items near the front.
- It is encouraged to leave a pathway in the middle going all the way to the back of the container so you can access items regardless of where they are in the container.
